### Wind Turbine Terminology

- rotor - generates aerodynamic torque

- nacelle - converts torque into electrical power

- tower - hold nacelle and rotor blades

- foundation - hold the whole turbine in place

__main degrees of conventional Darrieus turbine__

- azimuth - rotation of rotor to generator

- yaw - rotation of nacelle about vertical tower

- pitch - angle/pitch of blades about their lengthwise axis
